Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

If the Super Bowl means nothing more to you than a condoned opportunity to sidle up to some dip, we understand. That, however, doesn't mean you shouldn't take notice of a pretty cool auction the NFL is running in conjunction with Bloomingdale's and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Forty-eight helmets, made by 48 noted designers, are on offer, including a pretty spiffy one from Dallas-raised Lela Rose. Only one person has bid on the beaut so far, which is currently tagged at $248. The auction runs through February 4.
