Project Runway alum Austin Scarlett is branching out, designing costumes for the Fort Worth Opera's professional world-premiere production of With Blood, With Ink, according to dfw.com. Included as this year's alternative-venue contemporary opera, its 10 performances will be held at the McDavid Studio beginning April 20 as part of the 2014 Fort Worth Opera Festival. With his outré ascot-favoring persona, Scarlett "might seem a bit of an operatic figure in his own right, but it was his intellectual and artistic passions that made him right for this project." Scarlett made approximately 10 principal costumes for the six main characters, plus identical habits for the chorus of about a dozen nuns.
