Sam's Club is getting a center-city address. According to the Dallas Morning News, developer Trammell Crow Co. is about to kick off development of a key property adjacent to Cityplace, called East Village, and that's where the warehouser will be dropping anchor.

Last summer, the Dallas-based firm bought 17 acres along North Central Expressway at Haskell Avenue. In addition to Sam's, Crow is planning to lease several small retail spaces there as well. In addition, the report says arch-rival Costco has been eying close-in locations, too, "including the old Steakley Chevrolet property on Northwest Highway."
