This is getting interesting. Residents in the near-East Dallas corridor are quite peeved about the recently announced Trammell Crow Co. development called East Village, which will feature big-boxer Sam's Club plus other smaller tenants. A group held a grass-roots meeting last night, reports Teresa Gubbins with CultureMap Dallas, and is presently sitting in on a meeting of The City Planning Commission. Opponents fear that the store will "destroy the character [of the neighborhood] and increase traffic and crime." More to come, we are sure.
