It's been a big month for San Antonio. First, the Spurs win their fifth championship. Then, the city finally lands its first H&M store. (Discuss amongst yourselves which is more exciting.)
The new 28,000-square-foot store opened June 11 (actually, three days earlier than the Spurs' clincher) at the upscale Shops at La Cantera, north of downtown SA. It's the ninth store in Texas for the Swedish-based retailer, which has 3,200 stores worldwide.
"We've been looking at this market for a while," said Nicole Christie, H&M spokeswoman, to KSAT-TV. "Part of the factor [for coming here] is, yes, that the business conditions exist here that we can open a store of this size."
