The countdown is on until dreamy, high-end home store Pirch takes a second-floor, uh, pirch at NorthPark Center. On August 23, the luxe showroom will debut in part of the former Barneys New York space. But what to expect of this appliance wonderland?

  • 1. Pirch stands behind a somewhat spiritual lifestyle-oriented mission: "To make each moment count."
  • 2. You can take a shower IN the store. Yes, Pirch is serious about its customers trying virtually everything it sells.
  • 3. Complimentary cappuccino is served with aplomb here, thanks to La Marzocco espresso machines.
  • 4. Sure, the prices are steep at Pirch, but the company stands behind its Equal Value Assurance policy: The store will match any competitor's price on the same item.
