Roberta Roller Rabbit, the oddly named yet beloved New York-based resort-inspired lifestyle brand, is opening a store in Highland Park Village. According to the luxe shopping mecca's reps, the boutique will open sometime next month.
While the business started in 1996, when Roberta Freymann opened her first bazaar-inspired store selling one-of-a-kind accessories in an Upper East Side brownstone off Manhattan's Madison Avenue, Roberta Roller Rabbit is an offshoot of the namesake label. Inspired by a fable of a magical rabbit that Roberta found on a piece of discarded fabric in India, it launched in 2003 with a collection of colorful hand block-printed kurtas. Over time, the line has evolved into a lifestyle brand offering clothing for men, women and children, as well as accessories and home furnishings. With locations in New York's Tribeca neighborhood, as well as three stores in California, this will be the brand's ninth standalone.
